Charles Schwab was seeking to launch a new Human Capital Management (HCM) business to support its institutional clients. These clients are registered investment advisors (RIAs) - small to mid-size firms that face a very competitive landscape plus tight labor markets. Learning to be more effective on the "people side of the business" has the potential to create a significant competitive advantage for them.
McBassi worked with Schwab to implement a modified version of the HCC Scorecard within 60 of Schwab's RIA clients. The findings from this analysis, including the positive statistical links between specific HCM factors and financial outcomes within the participating RIAs, served as an important foundational element in helping Schwab launch its new HCM business.
